Eligibility Criteria for Income Tax Officer
Let us tell you that the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) organizes the entrance examination (SSC CGL) for it every year for selection of officer positions in the Income Tax Department.
Candidates must meet certain conditions to sit in this examination. Below we are going to give you all the information.
Educational qualifications for Income tax Inspector
Candidates must have a graduate to participate in the Staff Selection Commission CGL (combined graduate level) examination.
Candidate should be between 21 and 27 years of age.
Age relaxation- In the SSC CGL Examination, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes (SC / ST) category will be given 5 years, OBC candidates will be given 3 years and PWD class candidates will be given 10 years of age.
For Male Candidates:-
Height – 157.5 cm
Chest flowering – 81 cm
In the Stamina test, a test of the physical tolerance of the candidate is taken, in which the candidate is required to distance from 1600 meters in 15 minutes and 8 km in 30 minutes while cycling.
For Female Candidates:-
Height – 152 cm
Weight – 48kg
In the Stamina test, the female candidate must walk a distance of 1 km in a 20-minute walk and 3 km in 20 minutes by running a cycle.
Therefore, candidates who meet the above mentioned academic and physical qualification criteria can apply for the post of Income Tax Officer.
Selection Procedure for Income Tax inspector
Now if someone is academically and physically fit for this exam, then how can they get this post? So for this you must first keep an eye on the notification issued by the SSC.

Generally, the Staff Selection Commission issues recruitment notification for SSC CGL exam on its official website in the month of April.
Your first task is to read the instructions given in the notification and apply it in due time with the required documents requested.
For the post of SSC Income Tax Officer, you have to go through three phases selection process.
First of all, the preliminary examination will be organized which is usually held in the months of May and June.
After this, successful candidates declared in the first phase of the examination will have to undergo main examination and in this, successful candidates will have to go through the final phase interview.
